Sherene Collins
1. STYLIST AND OWNER

Bio: Sherene began working at the Hair Experience in 1980 before becoming the owner in 2005. Hair Experience is like her home and her staff is like family. Sherene takes great pride in her loyal clientele, beautiful salon and professional staff. She also has the pleasure of working alongside her daughter Devyn, a stylist and her sister Alicia, a receptionist. As a colorist Sherene has experience using Wella, Matrix and now Goldwell. She has been to the Goldwell Academy in Santa Monica, California for color, cutting and styling techniques. She has extensive product knowledge using Goldwell hair color and styling products along with KMS. Goldwell also has an academy in Baltimore, which is extremely convenient for her and her staff to continue their education at the academy and in the salon. It never ceases to amaze her; the impact great hair color, shine and style have on her clients. The ability to give women beautiful hair color and style keeps her passionate about her work. Born in Michigan, Sherene has spent most of her life in Maryland. Sherene has three beautiful, grown daughters who all contribute to the salon in a variety of ways. More than any other hobbies, Sherene values time spent with family.

Lisa Harris
2. SR. STYLIST

Bio: Lisa has been a stylist in the Crofton and Annapolis area for 25 years, a graduate of Arundel High and Annapolis Beauty Academy. Lisa describes her long time customers as extended family. "I have fun doing this," Lisa says, "It doesn't feel like a job and I love talking with people on a personal basis." Lisa specializes in color. She loves the artistic element of working with color, whether it's foils, all over color or corrective color. "It's like painting and its fun to see the change," she describes of transforming her clients. Lisa recently went to the Goldwell Academy in Santa Monica, California for extensive color, cutting and styling techniques and product knowledge. Lisa is currently training her apprentice Julie Toal to become a licensed stylist.

Twila Tyler
3. STYLIST

Bio: A graduate of the Fila Academy, a Paul Mitchell school in Glen Burnie, Twila comes to hair styling as a second career. A self described "late bloomer," Twila says, "I always wanted to do hair, but chose to raise a family first." After years working in various management positions, Twila decided to trade in her long meetings, crashing computers, and endless paperwork for conversations with clients, sharpened shears, and styling products. Twila loves changing and retouching hair color. Highlights are a fun change for a client. She enjoys the relationships she has developed with her regular customers. With great pride in her work, Twila looks forward to making each of her clients happy. She advises them that it is always exciting to try a new hairstyle. Twila feels fortunate to have made friends across the world including Germany and Hawaii, during her husband's military career. A graduate of Old Mill High School, Twila was happy to return to her native Maryland after her husband's retirement from the Army. In her spare time she enjoys her four grandchildren, skiing, boating and crabbing.

Devyn Lisko
4. STYLIST

Bio: Devyn grew up here in Anne Arundel County and graduated from Arundel High in 2009. She then went to Arundel Community College to receive an Associate in Business Management. While attending the college she also completed a 2-year apprentice program in the salon and became a licensed cosmetologist. She has continued her education at the Goldwell/KMS Academy in Baltimore and is working in their Master Colorist Program. She also continues her training by attended classes like (just to name a few). 1. Rebecca Hale's Blonde Enlightenment (advanced classes in hair lightening) 2. Deborah Gavin in Fierce Formulation (advanced classes in color and color correction) 3. Nick Arrojo's team in Razor Cutting 4. Martin Parson for Designing Long Hair 5. KMS in Women and Men's Foundation Haircutting Devyn says, she realizes education, experience and great customer service are essential tools needed to give her clients the beautiful hair they deserve. She also understands how rewarding this business is; to create beautiful hair for her clients. Whether her clients want to look professional, romantic or stylish; it is evident Devyn loves her work, providing great cuts, styling, color and highlights. Devyn is the youngest of 3 girls. She enjoys working alongside her mom, Sherene stylist/owner and her Aunt Alicia, the receptionist.
